Call for KR2008 Proposals
The KR Advisory Board is seeking proposals from organizations wishing to
host
the 11th International Conference on Principles
of Knowledge
Representation and Reasoning (KR2008) which is to be held in the year
2006. KR
is the premier international conference that focuses on the field of
Knowledge
Representation and Reasoning.
Proposals will be
evaluated by the KR Advisory Board before KR2006
on the basis of the following criteria:
- National, regional, and local KR community support.
- National, regional, and local government and industry support,
especially financial.
- Appropriateness of proposed dates.
- Adequacy of conference and exhibit facilities for the anticipated
number of
registrants (currently 160 - 180 for North America; 130 - 160 elsewhere,
depending on the location).
- Adequacy of residence accommodations and food services in a range of
price categories and proximity to the conference facilities.
- Adequacy of budget projections.
- Accessibility, attractiveness, and desirability of proposed site.
- Balance with regard to the geographical distribution of
previous conferences.
- Ability to attract other conferences to collocate with KR2008.
Proposals should include the following information:
- An outline budget of all related events, including information
regarding
the break-even point, registration fees and the funding model.
- Information on the accommodation available for the conference and
associated events.
- A list of potential sponsors and support organizations.
- Proposed conference dates and timetable, and justification for those
chosen. Target date is April - June 2008.
